An LED lighting myth

There are many designers, contractors, installers & landscape companies out there that say that LED low voltage lighting does not produce enough heat to melt snow during the winter months and will obstruct the light output. I disagree as you can see in the featured image of this post. This picture was taken a few weeks back when Cleveland was blasted with a few winter storms that brought 12-18″ of fresh snow to our area. As you can see the fixture has gently heated up just enough to melt the surrounding snow from the fixture. No obstructions in light source or impacts that will harm the quality Kichler fixture in any way.

Previously used incandescent low voltage lighting systems did melt snow very quickly due to their operation at extremely high temperatures. The lamp, lens and casing for the fixture would actually get so hot that it could burn your finger and possibly ignite surrounding mulch and debris within your landscape. Needless to say this is one of the many reasons why Greensource only installs high quality Kichler LED low voltage lighting fixtures and components to your home and business.
