For the first time in the Showʼs history, the incomparable splendor and vast natural wonders of Canada will serve as the
inspiration for the 68th Annual Cleveland Home & Garden Show. “Beautiful Canada!,” the official 2011 theme, will
prominently resonate amongst the high-end gardens and vibrant landscaping elements. An abundance of fresh flowers
and greenery in the form of colorful window boxes, topiaries, decorative floral footwear displays and more will be
introduced to further enhance the January eventʼs springtime ambiance and appeal.

Once again, the junior and senior landscape horticulture students from Auburn Career Center in Concord Township,
Ohio, have been awarded the opportunity to kick-off the Showʼs horticultural tribute to Canada by designing and installing
the 2,400-square-foot Entry Feature Garden. From red maple trees to white flora, the blueprint contains a mixture of red
and white plant materials to celebrate the colors of the Canadian flag. A perfect blend of brick and natural stone further
set the tone for the rugged garden, which also features a pair of wood pergolas and a pondless water feature.
Nine Canadian-themed gardens designed by professional landscapers from across Northeast Ohio will serve as entries
for the Ohio Landscape Association Celebrity Garden Competition. To further pay tribute to our neighbors from the
North, a writerʼs retreat inside a larger-than-life tree house celebrates Canadian author Lucy Maud Montogomery and
her bestselling novel Anne of Green Gables.

The 68th Annual Home & Garden Show marks the one-year anniversary for the Great Lakes Expo Center in Euclid.
The 215,000-square-foot eastside convention center with FREE parking debuted in January 2010 with the Home &
Garden Show as its inaugural event. During the past 12 months, the Great Lakes Expo Center has undergone more than
$295,000 in upgrades and improvements in preparation for its highly anticipated 2011 event season.
A host of gardening lectures, interior design advice and remodeling tips on four seminar stages will provide a wealth of
applicable ideas and projects to take home. The renowned horticultural leaders from the Cleveland Botanical Garden
will host an intimate “Ask The Experts” stage. Professional interior design inspirations will be plentiful at the Sherwin-

Williams Home Idea Center, including 12 “designer rooms,” a resource center and wow-factor wall treatment ideas
within the Paint, Wallpaper & Decorating Expo. Experts from the National Association of The Remodeling Industry
(NARI) will lead lectures on how to add value and comfort to your home. Seminar times and topics will be available at
www.homeandflower.com beginning January 3, 2011.
Adjacent to the NARI Stage, a new collection of Front Porch displays will highlight the various styles of railings and
décor one can utilize to enhance a homeʼs curb appeal. Guests are also invited to shop for the latest trends in home and
garden merchandise in Green Thumb Court, enjoy live cooking demonstrations from Executive Caterers and The
Viking Store at Legacy Village, and browse handmade artwork and wares from nearly 50 of the best crafters in the
Midwest. Plus, a lucky couple from Madison, Ohio, will tie the knot in The Wedding Garden at 4:30 p.m. on opening
day.
